I use high fire stoneware clay purchased locally. All my products are hand thrown on potter's wheel. After drying and trimming to proper form and shape as desired, I bisque fire them to around ~1,728 F (cone 08). After bisque firing and cooling, which usually takes around 12 hours each, I glaze my products. I then fire them once more at ~2,350 F (cone 10). This entire second process of firing and cooling takes another 36 hours.

All my products are gas-fired to a reduction atmosphere unless otherwise specified (electric-fired).

All Kalsang Pottery products are microwave and dishwasher safe. The clay and the glazes used are food and microwave safe. However, since these are hand made products, delicate care and caution is advised when washing, cleaning, or stocking.

 

Well cared for handmade pottery can last a lifetime!
